Story
Originally FifL was a street art campaign based out of Brooklyn, NY. The idea was conceived and executed by a group of men and women in 2009. We used stickers of our namesake to respond to oppressive messaging in the streets or to highlight historical landmarks in the struggle for freedom and equal rights.
Shortly after producing our first batch of stickers, we started this blog and offered to mail stickers for free. We wanted the world to be able to express themselves in their environment and to participate in the blog. In our first year, we mailed over one thousand stickers to feminists around the world. Our stickers have reached five continents. Our blog has received hits from six.
Today the blog serves a dual purpose. It curates art, music, and graphic design to express the core values of new wave feminism. It also serves as a news outlet for the latest trends in feminist discussion, feminist action, and news stories focused on sex and gender discrimination or breakthroughs.
